The New York Department of State Web site provides detailed information about New York’s Freedom of Information Law and Open Meetings Law.

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press Web site offers a Freedom of Information letter generator. We use this to file Freedom of Information requests for records within government records.

The Committee of Contracts Web page includes links to the official procurement policy for the New York City Department of Education, and an agenda of recent and future no-bid contracts to be reviewed before the committee.

This link takes users to the Department of Education’s newest contracts.

This New York City Clerk’s Office Web page provides users with a searchable database to see who lobbied whom and how much was spent.

The Procurement Policy Board (PPB) is authorized to promulgate rules governing the procurement of goods, services, and construction by the City of New York under Chapter 13 of the Charter of the City of New York.

The Doing Business with New York City Web page provides users and vendors with information about the city’s procurement policies.

Muckety.com provides interactive relationship maps visually showing the connections between people, companies and organizations.

FollowTheMoney.org provides users with a comprehensive and verifiable campaign-finance database.

OpenSecrets.org provides a nonpartisan guide to money’s influence on U.S. elections and public policy.

GuideStar provides a searchable database of 1.8 million U.S. nonprofits.
